The Federal Administration has agreed to help Alaska recover from heavy snow-fall. Cordova and Valdez experienced multiple feet of snowfall in January. This resulted in the collapse of many buildings and created havoc in the entire region. SBA is offering low interest disaster loans to people who have suffered damages as a result of heavy snow fall that occurred to blanket the entire area.
Loans have been made available to businesses, homeowners, renters and non-profits whose building and property got damaged due to heavy snowfall. Businesses that suffered damage of property or are economically injured can borrow up-to $2 million. Homeowners can borrow $200,000 for reparation purposes and replacement of personal property. Renters are allowed $40,000 loans for their personal property.
